| Rockmountain
is a luxurious private home on the beautiful island of Islay in the Inner
Hebrides. It is now available as a holiday let.
Set in the Rhinns in the north west of Islay, Rockmountain was built in 2005 to the highest standard, with a strong preference for natural and Scottish materials. The house is superbly equipped, and sleeps up to six people. We are developing a large garden, already with deck, picnic and other seating areas. From the house there is easy access to all the delights of Islay - deserted beaches and rockpools, horse-riding, moorland walking, bird spotting, swimming, craftware and gifts - and of course there is the obligatory distillery visit! Our huge 'wildlife windows' provide fantastic views - of birds and wildlife, of the natural environment, and of the enormous sky. Hen Harriers, Buzzards, Chough, Barn Owls, Deer, perhaps Eagles are all on view (but never to order). The ruin nearby, supported by the RSPB, protects rare birds. Rockmountain overlooks a Site of Special Scientific Interest featured on BBC's Springwatch in 2007. The views take in the Atlantic and Loch Gorm to the West, Loch Gruinart and Mull to the North, and Jura to the East. Whether you're familiar with Islay, or contemplating a first visit, we would be delighted to help you make the most of your stay. Please explore
this developing website, and contact us either by e-mail at islayrm@btinternet.com
